Skype

For those of you who don’t have cell phones, are out of minutes, can’t find it, etc. and need/want to talk to your friends, I have a solution. For a few months, I have been using a free, downloadable program called Skype. You can make free phone calls through the internet to other Skype users, and for a fee, anyone with a phone.

Just go to http://www.skype.com/helloagain.html to download the program, grab a microphone, and get started!

To make a call, click on a contact and press the green phone button. You can use this as an IM by clicking the little blue text bubble by contacts’ names. There are also many fun games you can play through Skype with friends, too.

Well, that is just about all you need to know about Skype!

Rock You!

Hey, everyone! Today I have another photo viewer.

When I first saw this photo displayer,  I was critical. It cut off some of the picture, you couldn’t make a title, etc. Now that I got back from Chicago, I decided to give it another try.

I found out that you have about 20 options of how it shows the pictures, my personal favorite being revolver. You can add music, background, picture captions, and more, and there are easy links to upload it to myspace and more.

Here is the link: http://www.rockyou.com/index.php

Just upload and add captions!

Here is an example of Chicago:

Google Documents

For those of you that start working on a school assignment at school, a parent’s office, or some place other than home and don’t have a way to transfer it, this post is for you. Google has come out with a website that allows you to save Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents on the Internet. As long as you have Internet access, you can access the document. To get an account, go to http://docs.google.com. Sign up for an account, and you can upload or begin a new document instantly!

Animoto

A neat program I have used to share photos is a website called Animoto. It takes images from your computer and makes them into a video that looks profesionaly done. You can choose between premade music, or you can upload your own. The sample below is of my cross country team:
